Re: Do I need an air stone?

Re: Shrimp garden
1,2,3...4...5......i’ve run out of fingers :D ROFL Very nice, a couple of very dark showy male CPDs there as well :) Thanks. When I moved the CPDs over to this tank I was concerned the bright lights may make them hide for a while until they settle in again as they can be quite shy but I must admit ...

Re: Water Change & Temperatures
I do it by feel and always put in water that is lower temp by a couple of degrees. As Stephen says this often will encourage breeding.
I fill straight from the tap (mixer) so just mix the taps till it feels about right.

Re: Food for very young Discus...
I have 6 young discus at the moment (First time keeping discus) and mostly feed them Beefheart alongside some normal pellet food. They share the tank with some corys so whatever they dont eat the Cory's clean up pretty quickly. I think I will keep them on beefheart for the time being as they do seem...

Re: Just some random pics!
Thanks, I have tried the VIBRA BITES, it floats on the surface and my discuss won't eat from the surface, using beefheart will be my last resort but my adult blue turks just don't seem to eat anything, my juveniles love the vitalis discus pellets. Mine will literally go straight to the surface when...

Re: Just some random pics!
Very nice fish, is that beefheart they are eating? Yeah Beefheart. The last lot of Beefheart that I bought online was infected with parasites, I am battling to cure this, can you tell me where you get yours from? Thats nasty! This is the beefheart I have - https://www.devotedly-discus.co.uk/acatalo...

Re: FAO : Cherry/Sakura Shrimp Keepers
I haven't seen it before with my shrimp... but its possibly the shrimps blood?
Similar to how humans have hemoglobian and the iron in that gives it the red colour, shrimp have copper in there blood (I forget the exact name) which will give it a blue tint.
