Re: Unlevel floor and aquarium cabinet question
My big tank was a little over 1cm out over 180cm of its length but never had any issues with it, it was too heavy to start moving around once it was delivered so just had to go with it.

Re: The cost of the filter/filtration
I thought I'd love the service valve but it seems a bit fragile and I don't use it at all now I have have a hose for water changes. I had a clear tube that fitted snugly over the drain valve which had the female hoselock connector on the other end. So I made up a long hose with male hoselock at one...

Re: The cost of the filter/filtration
Had a Fluval FX6 and a JBL Crystalprofi running on my big tank and I'd happily use them again under similar circumstances, never had issues with either running 24/7 (apart from cleaning schedule) for 5-6 years. The drain valve on the Fx6 made it so easy to do water changes. I only ever used buckets ...

Re: Operation Bankruptcy
Took a few false enquiries and promises that people didn't keep but got there in the end, nice lad and his dad collected it all today so that's really the end of this particular story.

Re: Operation Bankruptcy
Sale pending on this so if all goes to plan it will be collected in a week or so. Prospective new owner intends to turn it into a marine tank with sump.
So there you go, 64 pages on this forum and a few on the previous site. It's been quite an adventure.

Re: Hardwater Shrimp
I'd go amano with rainbows, as P says they will eat small shrimps given the chance once they get big enough. I even saw one of my big trifasciata eating small fish. By then all the amano had become completely nocturnal. They don't breed but they are long lived. I found a few leftover when I recently...

Re: Operation Bankruptcy
All fish were safely rehomed at one of the local MA branches at the weekend, they were really happy with them. I now need to give the tank a bit of a clean, take photos and come up with a reasonably knock down price. If anyone is interested here I will put something in the trade category in due cour...

Re: Operation Bankruptcy
Local branch of MA will take the fish for display tanks. Works for them as they stock rainbows and customers can see what the little ones they have will grow up to be. Beginning of the end for this project.

Re: The Rainbow River - Seabray Elite 340l
Sorry to hear you can’t take your tank with you. Gutted that I can’t those Rainbows off your hands. I got really excited before I realised where you were! You got plans for a smaller set up in the new place? It's not quite straightforward. The plan is for me to move this year and live in my fiancee...
