Can't remember what you have, Neocaridina shrimp eggs hatch every 28 - 30 days. If your fish are small and the shrimp have plenty of hiding spaces many should survive.

Detritus worms are harmless to fish and shrimp. Leeches however are a big problem. I’ve also seen another small thing about 2mm long that crawls over the glass quite quickly, not sure what it is. Does the ph drop overnight if you leave tap water in a receptacle overnight, what is the ph in the tank normally? I'm wondering if there's something else going on here.... I was thinking the same but that's one hell of a drop pH 7.2 to 6.4. Think his fish are up to something ...perhaps their brewin...
