Hi
Was tidying some java moss on a log when a clump came free - the moss underneath was brown and (I assume) dead. It seems to be where that collection of moss is anchored to the log so I'm reluctant to just remove it.
Any suggestions? Just let it grow back over?
Thanks
Dead moss?

I thought that when I first clipped back my very overgrown moss back but, I found out the brown moss is just hidden from the light & will colour up again in a few weeks
