It's working!!!! this is it today.

However until I get more flow and more light in the tank I think it's going to be a case of survive not thrive for my plants.

I was correct in my survive not thrive predictions for the plants, they are still there just not really doing a lot, today I’ve added the Aquasky 2.0 and tomorrow I will be adding a wave maker as the flow in the tank is virtually non existent. Plus the regulator has arrived but I’ll need more parts so that might have to wait till next month. So fingers crossed things will pick up.

Well I was off with the lurgy yesterday and I got tired of staring at the ugly grass guard so I took it out, then I sat looking at the tank for a minute and then I took everything else out bar the sand! and started again from scratch, I ditched the Eleocharis mini apart from two little clumps that seem to be doing well. spent the whole afternoon just pottering with the fish, lovely.

Pics, always pic....didn’t happen if no pics :D

About goldies with plants, our pet shop (a Spanish chain) have a fish section and also sell plants, the plant tank is fairly deep and large.... AND......they keep a huge goldie in it, plants seem to survive, not that this is a guarantee haha we all know how goldies and plants work ;)

Well typical! the day after ditching the eleocharis I have a new home for Emma the goldie  she's off to a woman at work with a bigger tank with another goldie to keep her company!!!
Sorry forgot the pics or it didn't happen rule :D the lights are off now so I'll get some pics up tomorrow when I get back from work. I can move the white cloud mountain minnow in from the 30l to join the danio in the 60l tomorrow now too. Then I'll have an empty 30l and I pick up the glass to repair (or attempt to anyway) the roma 125 tomorrow morning.
