Good looking tank, Andy.
'..so I planted the anubis..' I thought that Anubias shouldn't have their rhizomes buried in the substrate, because they rot?

Thanks Baddams.

I haven't buried the rhizomes. You can still see the plastic ring that bunches the roots together under the rhizome in the further back plant.

25% water change done yesterday, filter sponges swished in removed water and replaced the filter floss in the cartridges that I cut to size instead of buying the carbon inserts.

Water test done this morning. I was happy with this as it's the lowest nitrate reading I've had so far.

Getting there seeing as the nitrates come out of my tap at 50 ppm.

I also bought a hardness test this week. Results were 4 kh and 6gh.

My terracotta hidey holes are setting now as well. Might get plants stuck.on it tomorrow.

Time for another update.

Fridays are now officially aquarium day.

Dropped the kids off at school the rang the LFS I bought my weather loach from to see if he would take it back. He became far too boisterous and strong for the tank. The lad took the loach back no problem.

Next stop was fish alive in Durham. I could spend over an hour in there. Its brilliant. My dad was with me and got a couple of guppys and cherry shrimp for his nano tank.

I bought 3 Amazon sword and an albino cory which takes me to 6 cory. 2 pepper, 2 Albino and 2 bronze.

It's been about 10 hours since the loach came out and i cant believe how much calmer my tank is. The fish weren't in a rush to feed either. Probably because the greedy one is gone.

I've stuck 2 of the Amazon sword at the back near the filter and one in between the 2 anubis on the right. We are really.pleased with the extra green.

I've swapped the pets at home cave for my 6 tunnel build as well. There was no moss in the LFS so I decided to let it age in the tank.

My free water lettuce is starting to grow too. I'm still hoping it fills the ring eventually.

Looking good, the new plants work really well.
Also, good thing that you realised the tank would be better without your weather loach. Hopefully the shop will find a more suitable home for it and, as you've already noticed, your other fish are more relaxed.
