I may be wrong but if they've survived to that size they are probably going to be ok.

But I could be completely wrong!!

I hope so Mike. I do have a breeders net, but not sure the stress of looking for possibly more babies and upsetting the tank to catch them is worth it at this stage. God it is nerve racking!

My Bronze Cory babies remain in the aquarium from birth and my current number of Bronze is around 25-30 now spread over 3 aquariums.....not bad for a starting number of 4 in May last year. The babies are remarkably good at getting out of trouble's way....unlike their parents :)

Thank you. As a first time for me I went into total happy panic mode Image

Today is the first time it has come out into the open. I will just keep my fingers crossed it's okay. It got this far without my intervention :)

I would have thought if it was going to get eaten it would have been before now, they start off really tiny like smaller than a tadpole, I know this because I've just had a few hatch, I also know I would not fancy catching a really small fish in a 5ft tank, congratulations on the new fish :)

Thanks @Staffylover It is hard to imagine them smaller! So really mine is probably a few weeks old then? I am glad I didn't see it when it was that size, mind you not sure I would have recognized what it was.

Well the baby Cory is still there this morning. I actually saw it swim to the surface and straight back down :D I am pretty sure it is the only one, I have spent a lot of time viewing my tank and can't see any evidence of other babies.

Bronze aeneus are pretty hardy, even as fry. I would suspect that's around a month old.

Well I am glad about that, a month seems a pretty good age to make it to. Amazing I only saw it yesterday! :D
