Nice looking tank that - how do the goby's get on with the gravel? I thought they needed really fine sand, i was tempted by them from my local fish shop for our little nano betta tank but our betta's only in a Ciano 20 so it wouldnt be big enough

Thanks
The gobies seem to have no problem with the gravel. It's about 2-4mm size and not sharp. They don't seem to have my trouble digging their little burrows.
Sounds like you need another tank

I find that all babies look like Winston Churchill but apparently you're not allowed to say that either!

Well the Characadon lateralis (aka Tangelina or Teabag and Angelina) seem to know that it's spring. They have been tarting about at each other, on and off for the past few days.
It's interesting to watch their behaviour and colour change. A common display seems to be to lose the lateral dark line and twitch from side to side in place. Teabag also goes pinker sometimes.
Here's a couple of pics of them in standard markings
And one of them displaying.

And... I have a Poecilia obscura infestation
I left approx 7 in the breeding net thinking that the others would be a treat for the Betta and maybe the Characadon lateralis but so far the little devils are all swimming about quite happily, apparently completely unmolested.
I am looking forward to seeing what the males end up looking like when/if they grow up. Hoping for one with more symmetrical spots than their dad (Brad) has.
