I was thinking all Tigers Barbs but then I keep coming back to the Cherry Barbs and now I'm stuck. Do you think the contrast would work?

I've read that Cherry Barbs are both shy and aggressive.

Tiger Barbs x15
Cherry Barbs x5

I dont want many just enough t break up the colour a little.

Ta.

I've never kept Cherry Barbs but a shoal of Tiger's is always a busy delight.

Would the green tiger barbs go better with cherries if the regular tigers are nippy ?

Damn all these options, I'm hoping to go to my Local Maidenhead Aquatics in the next week so I can get my eyes on some of these fish as I end up having trouble picturing my tank after I've spent an hour or so researching and looking at different fish.

I've got my heart set on the Tigers tbh and everything I've read says that they are all buggers.

It’s so frustrating when there’s such a great choice.

Sounds like your settled on the tigers so just go for it :)

[/quote]It was much easier a 12+ years ago when the internet wasnt as it is now and the local store had four types of fish and no knowledge and just sold you whatever you wanted lol. I do find it cringe worthy though doing all this research now and thinking how did anything ever survive before.

I've had both, separately. Tigers were fine in a species only tank. Cherries are peaceful and suitable for a community tank.

If you want tigers, get them but keep it species only. Don't add cherries. Togers are striking and interesting enough with just them.

Tigers are little buggers, especially in too few numbers, but they definitely have an angry streak.
To the tune of “the saints go marching in”:
Oh fluffy sheep! Oh fluffy sheep! Oh fluffy sheep are wonderful, they’re white Welsh and fluffy! Oh fluffy sheep are wonderful!
