Thanks everyone!

Here are a couple of comparison photos.

I have trimmed all the coping stones and trial-fitted them but they are not yet mortared into place.

I am hoping that in a couple of years it will become overgrown by the creeping green stuff again. I have planted some in pockets in the new wall.

This is the overflow which is under one of the coping stones. The clingfilm will come off once I’ve done the mortar.

I took a short break from the pond to build a ‘Toad Abode’ for amphibians that hibernate in cool dark places:

I’ve finished the runnel and set half the coping stones in mortar.
I’ll do the other half after lunch, and finish the final trimming of the liner along the back.

Then it will be time for a tidy-up!

Basically, it’s now finished!

Actually, there is one more job to do, and that’s to re-route the gutter to feed the runnel. I’ve bodged that for now, and will sort it out later.

Once the plants have grown a bit, I plan to reposition some of them. For the coming winter they are in the brightest area in the hope of encouraging some growth

Hopefully in the spring I will have an invasion of aquatic critters!

I look forward to seeing it full of wildlife. :)
If at first you don't succeed....
...get someone else to do it! :D

Enjoy your fish, shrimps and snails!
