I have been thinking ahead to where I might go for a weekend away in the spring, on the possibles list is Weymouth, I happen to notice there is a sea life centre there, anybody been? Is it any good? Please feel free to recommend other sea life centres for future reference, the only one I have ever been to is The Deep in Hull and that was some years ago, but have a keen interest in marine life love watching Blue Planet type stuff on the TV,
This will be for March, so a bit early for boat trips I expect, but if anybody knows any good UK boat trips could you also list them, a couple of years ago I did one from Isle of Mull for sea eagles and it was amazing, thank you :D

They a few different ones out of Whitby... you can go out on the old life boat and they also do a dolphin tour... not sure what times of the year the various stuff is available.

I've got family in Whitby so spent a lot of time there but only done the boat trips once with my eldest daughter (8).

Also Scarborough has a sea life centre which looks quite good although never been.

BTW what I would say is, take your own food. There is a cafe which serves nice burgers but its pretty damned pricey.

A better bet would be to drive around the corner to Cheshire Oaks and go to Maccy D's ;o)

Second Blue Planet Aquarium near Chester, very nice.

Weirdly, Bolton Library has an amazing little aquarium purely set up with biotopes. Not flashy or impressive in the usual sense, but absolutely fascinating if you're in the area.

And if you're pushing the boat out, Lisbon Oceanarium in Portugal. It has the biggest nature aquarium in the world, set up by Takashi Amano (Florestas Submersas - "Forests Underwater". Absolutely stunning.
