Timer For Tank Lights

I currently have 2x tanks that I would like to fit with timers for the lights. Both have manual on/off switches. One has a switch attached to the cable and the other has the switch on top of the light housing (see photos below).

Would a timer still work on lights with these kind of on/off button switches?
Large tank (planted): 105L Aquael Leddy 75 -- 15 Red Rili shrimp, 7 Neon Tetra, 11 Glass Bloodfin Tetra, 2 adult Albino BNs (1m, 1f) & 30+ fry

Small tank (planted): 30L Superfish Qubiq -- 20+ Ramshorn snails, 3 Endler's guppy adults (female) and 15 fry

Yes if they are wired the right way and are 12v ( which both of them should be )

Ive used a tc420 with about 10 different 12v light with smd type chips. I’m still use one now with a twinstar light 👍🏻

I used a Plug Timer, Digital Timer Plug Socket.

I use a smart plug for both of my tanks. Comes with an app that you can set on off times for.
Superfish home 110 ,Superfish aqua pro 300 filter, + APS hob 500 filter.
Low tech set up.
