I need to decide what my next upgrade (Christmas present to myself :p) will be:

Fluval 406 - would this allow me to stock a few more fish? Also if I don’t sell the 306, would running both be overkill?

OR

Fluval plant 3.0 light to replace the standard white LED.
Fluval 240L with 407 filter. Water 1.68 dGh.

20 Harlequin Rasbora, 14 Rummynose Tetra, 5 Panda Corydoras, 5 Bentosi tetra and who knows how many Amano shrimp…

Ask @"wingnut55" about overkill with filtration......  ;)

Seriously though, running both sounds like a good idea to me. No idea about how it would affect stocking though!
Love Han xxx

55 litre Shrimp tank is planted up ...... just letting it grow and mature for now!  :)  xx

I’ve been playing around with aqadvisor calculator. If I did increase filtration I could get some more fish.

But I think I want to sort the lighting first. Poor Bolivian Rams looking bleached under the white LEDs.

Been trying to count my pandas over the last few days - pretty sure I’m now down to 8.

Water parameters are fine and stable - wondering if my tank just isn’t mature enough for them.

What are you feeding?
If at first you don't succeed....
...get someone else to do it! :D

Enjoy your fish, shrimps and snails!

I think it's just a Panda Thing, Netsu - mine haven't been the most robust Corys.

I'd go for the light. The extra tangible benefit of the upgraded filter (a few more fish) would - for me - be outweighed by the better light spectrum and flexibility of the Bluetooth control.
Planted Fluval 240 Roma
18 Harlequins
18 Norman's Lampeyes
12 Amano Shrimp
8 Panda Corydoras
6 Kuhli Loaches

2 Assassin Snails

The tank gets a variety of foods including frozen bloodworm, daphnia and cyclops. The cories have hikari sinking wagers designed for catfish but I’ve seen them munching on the sinking cichlid pellets too. I think you recommended the higher protein pellets last time but I thought I’d wait until these wafers were finished.

Thank you. I had read that they were good beginner cories but then one reads a lot of different things on the internet!

I will be getting the light soon hopefully (and the filter some time next year!)
