Sorry to hear about the pandas, the diet sounds good, so it's not likely to be that.
I've not had many problems with pandas since changing to the protein granules and upping the frozen or live foods to daily.
If at first you don't succeed....
...get someone else to do it! :D

Enjoy your fish, shrimps and snails!

I assume your tank has been up and running for a while? Mine has only been running for 7 months.

I had pandas in from the beginning, and this is actually a replacement tank for the original which leaked, so there was an element of "newness" then which didn't cause a problem.

The only other thing I can think of is that they were bought in two batches - one from LFS and one online from Leyland Aquatics. So quite a mix in terms of sizes.

Mine are from a couple of batches and differently sized, too.
Actually, do we own the same tank Netsu?

It seems that way!

I’m actually considering some gourami for when I eventually upgrade the filter and would love some otos in the future too (they’re very cute).

I think I’m slowly building towards your set up!

I have no idea. They share the bottom with the Bolivian rams but I’ve not witnessed any aggression. They do like to stay in their small groups so don’t think they’re lonely. I guess if anyone in the tank would be annoying it’s the rummynoses who insist on eating everything.
