Hi Forum,
I have 4 female mollies that don't stop having babies, I now have my third tank and I cannot keep on buying more (and maintaining) so many tanks because I have too many fish. What is the advise? I don't know of anyone/place that they buy/rehome Mollies.
There is no male in the tank, they are using stored sperm from before i separated the male from them
Too many Mollies

Have you tried gumtree, it costs like £3 to place the ad but you can cover that cost with the sale ?

I’m not quite sure, there’s other places like preloved or even Facebook, I’m not on it but I assume you’d be able to sell fish on there?

The good thing about livebearers is that they regulate their own population so they won’t overstock a tank. That might not be good enough if there’s other species in with them, but if you gave them a tank of their own their population would increase up to the capacity of the system and then stabilise (fewer fry, adults dying younger, etc).
Or if you remove all the fry, they’ll stop producing them after a few months.

I don't keep fish, I keep water. Water keeps fish.

Have you tried your LFS? My has all my platy and gubby fry and if they are a reasonable size they even give me a bit of credit... I have a fry tank where I keep them for a couple of months... I typically get more if I swap the fry for fish but usually get filter media, etc.

You could always try ebay, however price them out of the feeder fish range.
