After my army service I entered education. After several years teaching in the secondary and further sectors I scaled the slippery slope into management. About 10 years ago, I suffered 6 weeks as a supply teacher in a "modern Comp." They were the worst weeks ever in my education experience. I complained to the Head about the "childrens" lack of discicipline and was just told to write to their parents to complain!. I walked out.

I teach 8-9 year olds in quite a troubled part of the city. Stressful, over worked, and always have the welfare of one child or other on my mind, but wouldn’t do anything else!

This a general malaise today. Resposibility is being removed from those that should have responsibility and those that suposedly take on the resposibilty seem incapable of of being responsible.
As has been said before, those that can do, those that can't manage.
