About time I did an update though there is not much going on, Loxonus Cory doing well in the 50l, no changes in the Fluval all fish seem to be doing well, the kitchen tank had a trim back so I could clean up the algae, it looks ok again now though a bit bare.

Recently in the Fluval tank I have been really enjoying my glass bloodfins, they have a real shimmer under the tank lights, not sure if it will show but here are a couple of pics.

No changes to the kitchen tank, I'm fairly sure I must have 2 male tiger badis they are so intolerant of each other, I see the more colourful of the 2 most days, if the lights are off he will come to the front, but it's hard to take pics as he retreats into the plants when the lights are on, it's the electric blue edging to his fins that means I can notice him

Image

He is actually a really dark colour, with the tiger banding it's really lovely, but I can't show you that because as he comes out into the open his colour fades almost instantly so he looks a bit washed out in this pic but he is not ill, a few minutes later back in the plants he was again a very dark colour

Image

The Espei continue to do well, look good shoaling up and down together they are quicker than I thought and to the camera just appear as bright orange flashes see pic, this is a good representation though of just ho active they are :]

Plenty going on with tanks at the moment, but not with the kitchen tank, no changes there, I recently started feeding crushed flake as an addition to frozen, the other tanks get bug bites in addition to their frozen, but don't think that would work for tiny mouths, however I now seem to be getting some cyanobacteria which I've never had before, so cut back on the flake again to see if that helps, I do tend to overfeed the tank as the Cory and Badis are slow feeders, will have to see if this works.

Everything is ok in the Fluval, my 4ft tank will be getting a rescape soon so this is now really a holding tank, when the 4ft is ready most of these fish will be going there, the most recent addition from about 6wks ago is an Angel fish, never kept these before so will see how it gets on before adding any more, this wasn't planned I just especially liked this one, I think it's a male, I've called him Ghost :)

The male honey Gourami has been looking good recently

Image

I forget when I got these white widows, maybe 8/10wks ago I wasn't sure in the shop but liked the normal variety when I had them, I like them a lot better now I've had them a while, and they should show up well in the bigger tank, but they are a lot more feisty than I was expecting, remind me a little of piranha with their shape and speed!

I still really like my original Beacon Tetra,

FTS, the new tank can be seen in the background, will be posting about this soon.

The 50l is currently in use growing out some albino cory and albino X-ray Tetra (these look a bit pink) they were tiny when I got them and would have been unable to compete for food, here is how it currently looks

Quick update on these, the kitchen tank is doing a bit better with algae since the flake was reduced, the Fluval is a bit overloaded but it won't be for long as most of them can get moved into the 4ft when I get time

My 2 BN why do they feel the need to be on the same sinking tablet? I always put plenty in!

Looks great, what are the other Cory's in the tank (not the c048s), Septentrionalis?

Yes I have Septentrionalis (northern longnose) and a couple of Sychri Cory in there, the longnose have a lovely metallic green sheen which shows up best against a dark background, I hope the black sand in the next sand will help to show it up :)

They'll get even more of a sheen as they grow, nice fish! I nearly bought a group a couple of weeks ago but went for C123 instead.
