Started with two small cherry shrimps, now I have about twenty, might have to ask if they will take some back although they are doing a good job of eating the algae.

They aren't heavy on the bioload and will balance out to whatever the tank can take. ;)

Similar situation for me. Started with 4 which turned out to be 2 male 2 female.

They both dropped their 1st batch of eggs which I spotted so I used the turkey baster type tool to suck some up. I put the eggs in a container I keep spare plants in with no expectation of any making it but one did.

The females have since had another batch each and now I must have at least 30 shrimp which seem to be doing well.

I was fairly certain our platy's would eat the shrimp fry but if they did plenty still survived.

The only algae in this tank is green algae, the tank faces direct sunlight but the shrimps are constantly feeding on it and with the help of Co2 the plants are extremely healthy so its a good balance, the fish don't bother my shrimps either.
