What's the difference between guarding a cave and just sitting in it? I'm forever seeing my L046 in the cave just like that, sometimes doing a bit if fanning, but yet to see any fry appear. Just wondering what the behavioural difference are?

I think zebras tend to use smaller spaces anyway for protection as well as spawning, whereas the BNs need the smaller space for breeding purposes.
Most of my BNs are out unless there's spawning going on.

You are right there. Just 23 days after their last spawning they are at it again, poor Branson will get really thin if he's only eating one in three weeks!

Major Panic this week on the tank. After cleaning the Fluval 307 filter it leaked on refitting. After a couple of trips back and forward to the local MA they discovered a crack in the motor unit. They replaced the filter under warranty with no quibble. The tank went 18 hours without it's main filter but the Ammonia only rose to 0.1 so all fish safe. Old media in new filter all results now ok just hoping it was a one off, as water gushing from the front of the filter is something I don't want to witness for a while

Glad you got it sorted quickly, at least it happened whilst you were there, leaking filters or tanks got to be a nightmare for any fish keeper.
