My old 54L tank is no more, say hello to my new 250L tank!
Picked this up second hand along with the light and a brand new filter which was a touch!
Specs below;
Tank Model: Aqua One Oakstyle 230
Tank Volume: 250L
Tank Dimensions: W 116cm x D 38cm x H 60cm
Light: Fluval Aquasky Bluetooth LED 2.0
Filter: Oase BioMaster Thermo 350
Will be fitting some frosted vinyl at the back once it arrives and will then go hardscape shopping this weekend hopefully.
Due to some holidays I've got coming up it doesn't make sense to begin the cycling process so will likely be looking at my hardscape only for a while but gives me plenty of time to plan out the design and think about what fish I'm going to add!
Excited is an understatement!

A very nice catch - congrats! I can picture you now on a cosy Winter's evening, beslippered and toasting marshmallows from the comfort of your sofa with dozens of little beady eyes looking on. It doesn't look like the fireplace is in use, though?
What are your holiday plans, then, timingwise? I can't immediately see an argument against dumping some (say) fish food in there before you go away (if that's what's to happen). You could do a big water-change on your return and then begin your controlled cycle?
The absolute ideal is to more-or-less decide on your eventual livestock and then the decor, just in case there's some feature they'll need which you might not otherwise cater for and not be able to shoehorn-in comfortably when all is set up. Usually it's not critical but perhaps something to bear in mind, just in case?

I would love to make this an angel tank but from what I've read they're not meant for hardwater? Happy to be told otherwise...
This is my water hardness

Unless you mix RO water in with it, I wouldn't stock angels.

You break my heart fr499y but I thought this might be the case...
Would love to hear from you guys what stocking options I have, the plan for the scape is a sand base, some rocks (not sure what type yet), manzanita wood and then a ton of epiphytes attached to the rocks/wood if that also helps with stocking plans... Would prefer to have larger fish in this tank rather than lots of small and some bottom dwellers would be great...

I would start the cycle. A week without food won’t harm it much.
I don't keep fish, I keep water. Water keeps fish.
