Any pics? Is he a wild or captive bred? Wild's are absolutely stunning. The blues are never quite as vivid in tank bred fish, I guess something from their diet is missing.

He's nice. Sort of a silvery blue, which is cool. Probably tank bred

For the more unusual species. Most are fairly frisky once they have paired so no need for wild caughts. The tank breds tend to have a load of different colours like apistogramma cacatuoides and wilds are a bit more plain in appearance sometimes. Loads of colour strains available.

There was a wild caught Borelli in MA by me a few years back and it was stunning. Don't think it's particularly common for those since they're easy to breed, but it was by a long way the best looking Borelli I've seen. Wild caught Rams are supposed to be more beautiful too, but I don't think I've ever seen those. Other fish like guppies and Discus are much prettier for the tank bred ones where strains have been created by selective breeding.

Wild Discus look incredible, I'd have them over my man mades but I try to avoid wild fish. F1/2's etc seem hard to come by. A bit more difficult for a Discus beginner as well.codheadjohn wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 13:16 pmThere was a wild caught Borelli in MA by me a few years back and it was stunning.
