My poor Ghost has developed quite obvious fin rot literally over the course of a day.

I can see little red dots at the edges of some parts and he has this trailing part too 😢. Just tested water and all is as usual: pH 6.6-6.8, 0/0 ammonia/nitrite, nitrates are 0-5. I did a large 60-75% water change yesterday because of some serious crypt melt.
Behaviour wise, he’s active, fed well earlier (I didn’t take a close look as I never get a chance until my boy is in bed). He still has his tumour/lump (slowly growing).
I have, on hand, aquarium salt, Esha 200, Esha exit and melafix. I can move the snail into the 240L if necessary.
Of course this happens the instant I can’t go anywhere to get treatment and when post isn’t guaranteed (I do get Amazon prime though).
240L Fluval Roma with Oase 600 Biomaster: 1 German red bristlenose, 4 male cherry barbs, 6 standard rummynose, 3 golden rummynose tetra, 9 emperor tetra, 14 cardinal tetra, 2 hengeli rasbora, 3 nerite snails, 1 adult Sulawesi snail and multiple juveniles continually appearing.

Parameters: gH2, kH1, pH7.4 (tap).

I’ve done a salt bath (jugged him to treat) and huge water change to get rid of all the crypt melt. Then I did a massive stoopid and instead of getting the pump etc to refill, I poured water from buckets without thinking. One tank full of water I can’t see through 🤦🏽‍♀️. Just have to hope it clears in the next hour or so and I can transfer Ghost back before bed. Definitely not one of my finer moments and in dread of losing Ghost just as my boy comes off school for Christmas.

Looks more like physical damage to me. I can’t see any clear signs of finrot.

There are red dots and lines along the edges instead of clear cellophane fins. Larger area is looking dull/dead today (lights still off). Honestly thought he was a goner this morning but he was just hiding until I lifted the lid and he came over as usual.

Ok if that big patch is just grey coloured fin I’ll concede it’s finrot. :)

I don’t use Esha but Myxazin will cure it.

I'm trying to work out how he's got finrot.
Maybe he's started trying to shred his tail and it's come as secondary to that?

It’s a real puzzle. And I can’t get myxazin until after Christmas now. I’m going to do another salt bath today if I can, then start a half dose Esha 2000 (removing pumpkin first).
