Re: Stephen's 600L tank log:

June 2020 update I have been seriously observing my aquarium lately. The 25 x Glass Bloodfin Tetra (Prionobrama filigera) appear to be settling in and shoaling nicely. They have quite a bit of growing to do but when they do grow that should be stunning; the red tail fin colours are already quite ni...

I also use quick start during water changes, but as of now, no longer lol... so basicly, add quickstart when adding fish/livestock, filterclean/change or when starting new tank/QT Just note safe start doesnt work with prime as prime binds the food ...

Just wander past and disturb the surface of the water every so often with your hand just to make sure there is gas exchange
I like that idea, thanks Mike ::thumbu::

Re: NEW TANK CYCLE

Hello and welcome to the forum. You intend to do a fish-in cycle as opposed to a fishless cycle. Dosage new aquariums: DAY 1: 25 mL per 10 US Gal (37.8 L) DAY 2: 10 mL per 37.8 L (10 US Gal) DAY 3: 10 mL per 37.8 L (10 US Gal) Dosage after adding fish and or medicating : 10 mL per 37.8 L (10 US Gal)...

Re: Can anyone recommend an air pump please?

I can highly recommend the Eheim air pumps, very quiet. https://www.eheim.com/en_GB/products/technology/air-pumps/air I have the Eheim 200 and can hardly hear it when in use (not used on main aquarium). The Eheim Air 200 is only £24.95 from Charterhouse Aquatics ( Link ) Stay safe & healthy everyone

Re: Fish stocking levels?

thank you for all the advice looks like I need to rethink the stock I have, such a shame as the fish I have are gorgeous! 😔 I can keep the ancistrus as when it starts getting on the large size I can always rehome it to my girlfriends dads tank which is much larger than mine (200L). The last time I ...

Re: Bubbles

Hi Simon I generally make drawings of my filters before and after I re-vamp them. I done a search of my computer and found my Aquamanta re-vamp drawings. I believe the EFX300 has 3 media trays as with the EFX200 I owned. I removed the carbon sponge & phosphate sponge. The revamped image made the fil...

Re: I’ve sinned!! 😱

Adding the Seachem Stability will certainly help.

Cory love high protein food, bloodworm (frozen or fresh) is good.
I still feed JMC high protein mini pellets and the cory love them. (ebay link)

All the best

So sorry to hear you're shutting down your aquarium :(

A new adventure of a pond sounds good, hopefully we'll see a pond log from you Marty ;)
All the best my friend.

Re: How long before i can introduce more fish

Can I ask how you cycled the aquarium in just a few days? (cycle = preparing the aquarium & filter ready to hold livestock and deal with any waste) Did you use a bacteria in a bottle product such as API Quick Start or were you recommended something else? The 25L aquarium is small and hardly big enou...
