its has been a long time but yesterday i did a 65L change of 90L added 1ml ammonia and 12 hrs later Ammonia 0ppm nitrite 0ppm nitrate 20ppm (before water change it was 160ppm) i would say im officially cycled, would the 20ppm be sufficient for my platys? i have 2 adults, 2 8 months old 6 small 3 mon...

24hrs later and 3 days in a row have had 0ppm nitrite, will continue adding ammonia at 2ml and try and get 3 days straight <=12hrs 0 nitrite then do water change.

sorry meant nitrite (long day) its 0.50 to 2ppm now. it did go to 0 but i don't think it was fully there, its weird as i dropped the liquid it went purple (without shaking) after shaking turned purple started to get light to blue over 5 mins.

its been a whole week now and my nitrate readings are sky high, iv added ammonia every day as 24 hrs later it shows 0ppm. should i just be patitient and wait for the nitrate to drop again? is there any way i can significantly speed it up (even a little).

ok thanks, will have to do water changes until things are low and try stay on top. will reduce feeding too. im considering seachem products now, if i purchase seachem prime how quick can i use that in my tank like do i have to wait for it to dechlorinate?
