Re: Stability or StressZyme ?

Hi again, quick question: I've ran out of Seachem Stability, but have a full 1.9 litre of API Stresszyme + that came with my ebay bargains, can I use it in place of Stability? I use Stability for routine maintenance and it appears they both do the same thing in this role, and are both expensi...

Happy Our Day

Wishing all my fellow dad comrades out there a Happy Father’s Day. Sink that bacon butty, Slap on those crisp new boxies, Get your feet up and (if like me) Enjoy an afternoon of spectator sports viewing next to our pride and joy aquariums; for this is the one day we can ‘officially’ get away with it...

Re: Platy babies!

Always get excited for others when they find fry. I guess its because I'm imagining finding some myself 😄 Hope they survive! Fingers crossed for you 🤞 Cheers , I have a cave like area which can’t been seen in the wood so I’ve filled it with ceramic discs .. hopefully small enough for the fry but no...

Re: Platy babies!

They will carry on dropping babies, once they have bred the female will have multiple deliveries. I would think that she had many more fry but they will have got munched pretty quickly :( They need lots of dense plants or java moss to hide in, your other fish will love feeding on fry. Nature it is!...

Re: Platy babies!

Forgot to add, if you need any help with them I suspect you would be pointed in my direction, after “some” experience with livebearer babies :D Haha I’m thinking from that that you are the fish maternity ward lol. Will do .. thanks. Am I under thinking this or being naive in leaving this nature. I ...

Re: Trimming/Pruning vs Propagating

As far as I know this is just part of the plants' mechanism to spread. I have the Hygrophila Polysperma in my tank and it grew upwards but also sideways, then anchored itself into the gravel and sent upwards shoots towards the surface, thereby creating a 'curtain' of plants. Its obviously a persona...

Re: Platy babies!

It's amazing when you see babies in your little world! :) It really is lol. Well excited 😆 Just thought it was a bit of chewed off leaf at first. Angels noticed them. He’s chased them once when ventured out but they rather rapidly shot back into the plants lol Just more amazement from the great pas...

Platy babies!

I’ve noticed 2 platy fry :woo: My first ever aquarium offspring! I only added the 2 platy last week. I do have a fully gown angelfish, fingers crossed they stay out of harms way and can grow. Plenty of hiding opps. https://i.postimg.cc/SsJ4n3dG/41103680-3-B84-4-E37-B989-4159-C073-B9-B1.jpg

Re: Trimming/Pruning vs Propagating

Yeah whats all that root business about. I hate that 😡 Please someone enlighten us 😄 Ha! I’m guessing you didn’t understand the question ... I’ve seen many an example of aquariums that don’t have the big clusters roots above the substrate. Can I cut these mid stem roots away to keep it tidy?
