Re: Back 2 Basics - Blackwater Edition
Water change day! I also removed one type of botanical as they basically fell apart and left loads of floating fibres in the tank! Took me a while to work out what was causing the fibres, so hopefully no more mess! Topped up the leaves as the leaf bed was getting thin. https://i.postimg.cc/T183tPwx...

Despite the bigger wood though...

How do you move heavily rooted plants
Hey everyone, planning on moving some stuff around in my tank again. However the crypts will not budge and I don't want to just rip them out like I would with sand as they are rooted in tropica substrate capped with sand. Don't really fancy filling my tank with the tropica stuff lol. I tried moving ...

Re: How long does it take for new media to seed?
Thanks both VikingMummy2015 It's just a 25l cube and will be stocking a single betta (I know it's not exactly the ritz hotel but from everything I've researched it will be fine for a single betta) at least until I build a stand for a 90l and use this one as quarantine or shrimp tank. We'll get it se...

How long does it take for new media to seed?
Girlfriend is itching to set up here nano tank now we have somewhere to put it. The plan is to cram the small amount of filter media from her HOB filter into one of my canisters. Then she can set up the scape etc.. while her media builds up the bacteria. Just wondering what time scale we'll be looki...
