Re: Noobie help please!
Thanks guys, for all the input really appreciate it. Has been a super busy couple days but highlights so far is: Returned the non paired Rams, and the LFS did give us a credit back which is good. They are stating that we could get a nice shoal of Neon Tetras or something similar, around 8? Do you g...

Re: Galaxy Rasboras
Sadly, the fish store have been telling you what they want to sell you, not what is actually best for the fish. Here on the forum we have no financial incentive; we’re just providing advice based on varying numbers of years of experience. I had a tank that size as my kids’ first tank in 2017. It was...

Re: Galaxy Rasboras
If you’re not going to upgrade the tank then the best thing you can do is not buy more fish for it. It’s overstocked for a 25L tank and your fish may well be getting stressed because of that, or there might be some sort of infection going through them as suggested (on top of the stress). Re: New Tank Log: VikingMummy
Can you go to the powers that be and complain about this social worker? I sent an email last week in response to her accusation I’d been secretly recording her without her consent plus various things she’s saying she’s “concerned” over (last time I checked she has no right to be concerned over medi...

Re: New Tank Log: VikingMummy
Update: Sorry it’s been a while. Stressful times at Viking HQ unfortunately. What was meant to be a supportive needs assessment to help me and the boy out has turned into a bit of a nightmare with a horrible social worker (she even annoys my unflappable step-mum!). However, all is good on the fishy ...

Re: What causes illness if water conditions are fine?
How do you acclimatise new fish to the tank? usually just let the bag of new fish sit in the water for about 30 mins/an hour. then every 15/30 mins add some of the tank water to the bag until the bag is then full over a few hours and then sinks/ or once its near ful i tip it horizontal to encourage...

Re: What causes illness if water conditions are fine?
It can be disease brought in by the new fish. But as Martin says, what are your actual water parameters in terms of ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, gH and pH? How old is the tank and how was it cycled? What water treatment do you use (dechlorinator plus anything else)?

Re: Painting aquarium
I have a black background taped onto the back. Was much easier than painting and I can change it out if I wanted to.
