Re: Sick goldfish
Breeding spots are quite different to those in the pics. You only really get them on the gill covers and the front of their front fins. A lot of people think their goldies have white spot when it’s just the boys feeling a bit frisky!! I’ve got an excellent pic of breeding spots hidden away on my lap...

Re: Sick goldfish
I too have noticed this on a couple of my goldies from time to time. The little white bits (mine have mostly looked like the bottom picture) have always disappeared within a few days with me doing nothing. At first I thought ‘parasite’ but doesn’t seem to be. When I recently had to treat my tank due...

Re: Cheltgirl’s Sooperhooge Goldie Tank and The Barbarium!!
How are the other inmates doing? I have been keeping a very close eye on the rest for a few weeks now since we first noticed how pineconey Galileo was. They’re all fine. No sign of disease/infection, they’re all eating and swimming normally. I was fearing the worst but perhaps it was something othe...

Re: De-ionised water
It is my understanding that deionising water does not remove organic molecules, bacteria or any particulates whereas reverse osmosis does. The best water is RO/DI. Also buying it in bottles like that from Halfords etc is expensive. The more ‘sciency’ people will be able to explain it better than I c...

Re: Cheltgirl’s Sooperhooge Goldie Tank and The Barbarium!!
Been a while since an update for the Sooperhooge. Sadly it’s not a good one. A few weeks back it looked like Galileo was developing dropsy. Treated with esha with little hope as it’s so difficult to treat. His scales didn’t get any better but they also didn’t get any worse and his behaviour carried ...
