Re: Sixo’s 350 Rio Renovation

So this is what’s coming out on tests for Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate in that order. Can’t tell if I’ve cracked it or things have stalled? I transferred over all the older filter contents, sand and some decor, also dosed prime and stability for the whole tank. https://i.postimg.cc/gkKcZ66M/IMG-5260...

Re: Sixo’s 350 Rio Renovation

Things are a bit flung-in (due it taking me till 2am to complete the switchover). Waiting on some plants coming from Pro Shrimp but fairly happy to have done all the heavy work without any losses, hate having to stress the fish moving them around but it’s better than risking a potential blowout. It’s ok in that case, thanks for getting back. There’s enough safer ones out there just liked the colour of the amber Amtra stuff.

Re: Starting Again with Plants

Any experts on Anubias out there? Was going to order a few to attach to wood. Are they all equally hardy? Any ones to avoid if I’m keeping things low-tech?

Would you say it was rounded/safe enough for Corydoras @fr499y ?

Yeah can’t go too wrong with the Unipac stuff. Not too fussed on grain size as it’s just a bit of a top-up. Something a little bigger might make it a nice mixture as long as it’s not sharp.

Re: Sixo’s 350 Rio Renovation

So, as posted on another thread, I’ve discovered a crack on the side of the Rio, no idea how it’s came about. I did get it 2nd hand about a year ago so whether it’s been age, over handling, a son who likes to throw things or whatever, I’ve now ordered a replacement tank due to arrive next week. Goin...

Re: Sand Depth & Egg Crate

Can anyone recommend a corydoras-friendly river-type substrate I can top-up with? I’ve currently got the Barlows River sand which I like but can only see it in 25Kg bags now and I’m only needing a few kilos at the most. Going to add a little more depth for my Amazon swords. https://i.postimg.cc/R0k3...

Re: Cracked Tank

Well a few days later it’s still holding up. After being a bit down on the hobby the family have talked me into sticking with it so I’ve ordered a new tank to be safer.

Re: Cracked Tank

To be honest if I have to empty it I think I’m done with the hobby I’m sad to say 😔.
