Yeah can’t go too wrong with the Unipac stuff. Not too fussed on grain size as it’s just a bit of a top-up. Something a little bigger might make it a nice mixture as long as it’s not sharp.

Re: Sixo’s 350 Rio Renovation

So, as posted on another thread, I’ve discovered a crack on the side of the Rio, no idea how it’s came about. I did get it 2nd hand about a year ago so whether it’s been age, over handling, a son who likes to throw things or whatever, I’ve now ordered a replacement tank due to arrive next week. Goin...

Re: Sand Depth & Egg Crate

Can anyone recommend a corydoras-friendly river-type substrate I can top-up with? I’ve currently got the Barlows River sand which I like but can only see it in 25Kg bags now and I’m only needing a few kilos at the most. Going to add a little more depth for my Amazon swords. https://i.postimg.cc/R0k3...

Re: Cracked Tank

Well a few days later it’s still holding up. After being a bit down on the hobby the family have talked me into sticking with it so I’ve ordered a new tank to be safer.

Cracked Tank

Hi folks, So I may have a bit of a problem. Whilst carrying out a water change tonight I’ve discovered a crack on the side of my Juwel Rio: https://i.postimg.cc/RZj5hx2X/IMG-5186.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/KYBXgs2F/IMG-5187.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/HkJ1Tkvr/IMG-5188.jpg It’s not cracked from the insid...

Microbe Lift

Hi, I think I know the answer to this but what are peoples’ thoughts on this stuff? If a tank is already well established with enough beneficial bacteria, ammonia & nitrates aren’t giving any cause for concern I don’t really know what the benefit to using this stuff would be? Says it works as a ...

Re: Tetra Identification

Not a tetra like the title says but can somebody clarify what this is? Some sort of Laetacara species maybe?

Re: Sixo’s 350 Rio Renovation

Thought I’d post a wee update, things seem to be going pretty steady now. Algae is running riot on the 3D background, which is giving it a natural look. I’ve had some BBA growth on the wood but I’m not overly bothered about it as everything else water-quality wise is good, small weekly water changes...
