Yeah i follow them on facebook, not sure what the reason was but they were given about a month to vacate the premises. Some of the staff have taken jobs at Just Finns in Stoke - always found the staff at a-z helpful

Re: Changing aquarium soil
Wow just for future reference I wouldnt put this soil in a stocked tank. Its dropped my kH from 8 to 1 in about 2 days! Ammonia spike is probably not problematic though, gone to 0.25ppm (with no filter so a cycled filter would probably be able to deal with it)

I've dug out an old heater so will add some of the plants once the temp is up. Hadnt considered putting the plants into the tank to take advantage of the ammoni...

Re: Changing aquarium soil
Yeah im hoping to have ammonia pretty non existent before transferring fish back into the tank. Starting to think that means i'll need some sort of filter running in the tank with the soil.
Going to add soil, half fill tank and monitor daily for a week to see what happens

Re: Targeted feeding
! I had this issue so started using cory pellets as well as floating food... now all my fish are bottom feeders and are disinterested in anything at the surface!

Changing aquarium soil
Good morning After a bit of advice regarding soil. I've just moved house and currently all my fish, water and filter are in my brothers (old but annoyingly bigger and better) tank. I decided I wanted my substrate to be deeper - I think I cheaped out initially and went too shallow. The old substrate ...

Re: Opportunity to make changes
Hah yes i use RO water mixed with tap so have huge containers. Will be able to use original tank water. Im only moving a few hundred meters so hoping water will be similar!
Mainly i was just wondering if theres any maintenance that i should do to the tank whilst its empty?
