Gingerlove05 says...."Are you sure you haven’t edited that?"

RE: My first tank!
Aquaskip, I also started a chemical-free ammonia cycle 5 weeks ago. I put plants in as soon as the subtrate settled (it was sand over gravel). In order to kick-start the cycle I added a few drops of Ammonnium Chloride purchased from a bottle purchased on the web. That did the trick as now the ammoni...

RE: Is inert substrate with root tabs enough?

RE: ammonia and plants
I know this is an old post, but CHELTGIRL, how did your tank end up? I have the same problem now and my new tank is in its 5th week of non-chemical cycle. (complete with plant). The ammonia is disappearing and there is still nitrite. But suddenly there is brown algae all over the leaves and sides of...

RE: Is inert substrate with root tabs enough?
The only problems I had with plants, were the wretched things floating to the top with the circulating water. Especially those with larger leaves. My substrate is sand covering gravel. Finally got the better of them by placing tiny stones around the roots. (After boiling them of course... the ston...

RE: Tank stand smaller than tank
57 litres is about 10 gallons and one gallon of water weighs 9 pounds or so. Add the substrate weight and any additional stuff you wish to add and this will give you an idea of total weight.

RE: Tetra Nitrate test problem
Thanks Stephen. I re-checked the pakage and found these:- Test powder and measuring spoon 1 x vial. The vial is so tiny I missed it and the spoon measure about 5mm and is almost invisible. :-) (My problem must be age-related LOL) Anyway, the nitrate content is HUGE at the moment. but the tank is onl...

Use the “imgur” button to upload pictures. The attachment part isn’t working. I’m afraid I can’t help with the test kit as I’ve not used that myself. Have you looked online for instructions? Hopefully someone will be able to help you soon. Thanks for the advice I will try that.. Regarding my proble...
