Re: Several deaths over last 3 -4 weeks : Why?

Then I got my fish as follows: 1 small Red Tailed Black Shark, 3 small Clown Loaches, 10 small Cardinals, 3 small Rams, 4 Cory Sterbaii, 2 small keyhole cichlids, a small Bristlenose and a sucking loach . Is this Gyrinocheilus aymonieri you have in your aquarium by any chance? :dodgy2: https://i.po...

Re: Fish poo!?

@Martinspuddle. Found a used 2213 on gumtree for £20. Worth adding it on to the tank or would there be potential problems having two filters with different flow rates. This would be them combined. https://i.postimg.cc/MTfnsGrV/Screenshot-20200914-134724.jpg Shouldn't, just install the outflows at o...

Re: Fish poo!?

Ok so would it be recommended I swap one of the 600's out for an fx6? Along with a powerhead or 2? That'll teach me for assuming and not doing the sums :banghead: Should be at filtration volume of 20 litres, your two Oase 600 filters are together only 13.6 litres volume. I've never used a Fluval FX...

Re: Fish poo!?

My filter falls short of the 5x rule and everything is fine so far. Planning on adding more plants that suck up nitrates and add lava rock to increase the beneficial bacteria in the tank. Assuming that will be okay? Also doing 2 WC per week. If your prepared to do the waterchanges, then it shouldn'...

Re: Fish poo!?

A powerhead may sort the problem, but you will have to leave the tank pretty understocked with your current filtration. Oase 600 filter volume is 6.8 litres times two on this aquarium, so yes I would agree it's a tad underwhelming but OK with current stocking. This was why I ask your future plans. ...

Heater and thermometers suction cups are my nemesis....nemeses...nemesises....things that go wrong.
Same here, nearly forth years and still no new ideas.

You would think by now that freshwater internal filters would have magnets fitted but no.
