Re: Congo tetra with Angel fish?

Congo Tetra (Phenacogrammus interruptus) are not a great idea with any slow moving Cichlid species.

Re: Suitable tank-mate for a Betta in 25L aquarium?

Silly thought went through my head reading this ...would you put another inmate in with Britain's most notorious prisoner Charles Bronson? https://i.postimg.cc/Hx9vZPBk/Charles-Bronson-Rex.avif Probably best not too! Seriously, think a Nerite snail would be about the safest thing with your si...

Re: DuzMano's Leddy 60XL 72l

So... My tank arrived today, along with substrate, not enough sand cap (the calculator said 5-8kg and I bought 6, it's nowhere near enough looking at the bags laid out) and a load of other bits like test kit, fluval cycle and aquaplus, aquascape tools, net, Syphon/gravel cleaner, magnetic glass cle...

Re: Understanding water hardness

I can’t help but feel I’ve annoyed you… I don’t have 40 years of experience or know the trusted websites for information. In the same way you wouldn’t know for my area of work. It’s only natural I’d use a search engine at the beginning of my journey. I mean, I am here after all. Asking questions to...

Re: Duckweed.

I believe it also works with Pistia stratiotes. Water lettuce and Silvinia out grow and spread over the Duckweed denying it sufficient light to grow.

Only one problem with this idea in a planted aquarium, it also cuts out the light to your other plants in turn.

Re: Understanding water hardness

This is going a tad off topic, but hey ho. :dodgy2: Out of interest why do most work off of the German scale? When off the top of my memory (which isn’t great) there was an English and French scale too? I was brought up using this scale but don't really know why most use it, just easier I think. A l...

Re: Understanding water hardness

Just been reading through this thread. Google told me cardinal tetras need 4 dGH 😊 But I can’t understand how you know that the screenshot I showed means I have 16 dGH, I don’t see that written there at all… oh wait, is it the degrees German part? So cardinal tetras are definitely off the list then ...
