The quickest method of euthanasia is to quickly take the fish out of water and squash it. Failing that, Clove Oil.

It’s not always a problem but as said, it’s a risk, which makes it irresponsible. Most of us do water changes at the weekend when tap water tends to have more chlorine / chloramine in it. Midweek, you’re more likely to get away with it.

Head looks very swollen, maybe popeye aswell? Probably a concoction of diseases which is very common in these poorly farm bred Rams. As for treatment, your guess is as good as mine. I don’t have much hope for it at this advanced stage.

Trouble with that is if you go for a filter rated at 4, you’ll end up with about 2.5. The general advice is to aim for 10, which will get you about 6-7.

Just seen the flow rate calculator. You’re really advising a turnover of only 2.7x an hour?
