Heaters & Thermometer
#1
I'm looking at buying a couple of heaters (both working in the same tank at the same time in case one fails).  Any recommendations on value for money?

I also need a thermometer.

Many thanks

Thermometers just get an alcohol filled one not the stick on the glass ones. The stick on ones tend to read the outside glass temp and will show a lot warmer in direct sunlight (this can also get them permanently stuck)
Eheim heaters seem to be highly rated, i have one in my 100l.

I have two external heaters connected to a controller. The heaters get turned on and off by the controller and it's the controller that monitors tank temp. That way both heaters come on when told and get switched off when told.

Thanks for replies.

Any specific recommendations @Jota?

I have two Hydor inline external heaters but then I have two canister filters so one heater is fitted inline from each filters outlet.
They are controlled by the D&D temp controller. You could do two heaters for less.

Inkbird have a cheaper controller. You get them on Amazon. The Eheim Jager heaters are well regarded.

Yep, Eheim Jager heaters are awesome. Be careful as they are rather long. The 300w is a monster at 50cm!
