hello from leeds

Tongue
hello all, names chris, i live and work in Leeds, got a wife (the boss, you will see why) 2 kids 3 and 4months.

i use to have a 60litre tank that after 6 months got upgraded to a 210 litre oak tank from maidenhead

sold my house and tank etc, as i planned to build a 800litre wall divider, after 3 years we decided to move again (for the above mentioned kids) so it never got built.... boooo

new house and all funds are going in to this, still no kitchen or floors etc due to extension etc...

so as you can imagine tank funds are, well not allowed... got my daughter a little tank for growing tropods... yea that was boring too small to see much... que a friend gifting me an unused 60ltr biorb

boss can refuse me a frrreeee tank.

now ifs water tight
lights work
air pump works (though not sure how much circulation and flow this creates)

limited lava rock (need more)
no sponge.

so im thinking upvc tube, drill holes, 10cm sponge in width (fits over the air stone) half way up the tank, should create some better filtration. seen many videos.

need a heater

and thinking a fighter fish and shrimp to keep the bio load real low.

now been awhile, do shrimp create much bio load?

heres to getting back up

once kids are older i have a 4mtr wall to have a huge tank against

Hi Chris

Yeah, it's annoying how Real Life gets in the way of your fishy plans (my daughters are 12 & 17).
I've got a few Amanaos in a 240 litre and I think the added bioload is negligable.

Welcome!

welcome! to

If its a bowl shape biorb, don't put a betta in it Smile the top doesn't give enough surface area for them to get up and take in air.

I've got loads of alfagrog if you need any?

Bio load is tiny with shrimp Smile

good to know as it is the bowl, i might have to go back to the drawing board.

also i shall google alfagrog...

i need to organise a air sponge filter.. anyone know if more air equals faster flow = more filtration
or will some air and a lot of sponge just work
use to having two canisters
dont know how well the air pump will function as a filter.
