hello from leeds

Welcome to the forum. Big Grin

Shrimp will be fine (as will snails) with maybe 6 small fish like endlers or microrasbora. Smile
Do you know the hardness of the water? If you find that out we can suggest the best small fish for you.
If at first you don't succeed....
...get someone else to do it! Big Grin

Enjoy your fish, shrimps and snails!

@chris.tinker drop me a PM with how much you are after and i'll see what i can do for you Smile

As for the sponge filter, the size of the sponge will decide on how much filtration it will handle. A more powerful air pump will allow more water to pass through, creating more flow.

I presume the GH of 60 is from the API test strips?
Can you look up the GH on the supplier's website please so we can relatively accurately advise what would be ok?
Thanks. Smile

Any of the neocaradina (red cherry etc.) shrimp will be ok, as will Amanos.
Pop a piece of cuttlefish "bone" in for extra calcium so they can moult easier. Wink
