Sarah's tanks
Thank you for your nice comments guys. I know there is the 'its only a fish brigade' but it's a life that was my responsibility and the pleasure that I get from my tanks make me try to do my best. At least they actually had a good innings at 4 plus and 9 years, probably more than in the wild!

100% agree with you, absolutely hate people with the ‘its only a fish, it’s only a cat, it’s only...they are living, feeling creatures and when we take them in our care we are responsible for their lives and well being.

Sorry to hear Sarah. Sad
I had a couple that passed at about 3.5 years as well, the remaining 8 are just about 5 now (plus whatever age they were when I got them).
If at first you don't succeed....

Enjoy your fish, shrimps and snails!

3 weeks ago I was in a local Maidenheads, I have been looking for Red lizard whiptails for about 6 months as I had lost one of my pair. Seems they have been a bit like hens teeth of late and yet there in front of me are two which look very similar sized to the ones I got from here about 15/18? Months ago.
Well..had to have them!
Asked the guy 'do you have any idea how old they are?'
Rather sheepishly he laughed and said 'erm well we've had them about 15 months, they err kinda went under our radar and we forgot we had them!!!!!!!
They hadn't been listed or priced'
Huh how do you forget about them?, How the devil had they survived and are they from the same batch I originally bought!!!!!
Anyway three weeks in my QT tank and they are now ready to face the world Smile

Come on!!!!! How do you forget you have got them?

Nothing to report as such, no news is good news so to speak! Just thought I would share a couple of pictures.

Doing a water change this morning and look what I spot!!!!!

I think this happens regularly to plankton but my emperor's have been in about 2 1/2 years and from this point on nothing has survived their Terminator ways....they even go for me!!!
I'm guessing it must be 5-6 weeks old as it's pretty well developed.
Anyway cheered my morning up...  surprising what just makes you smile isn't it Smile

It's really cool, isn't it?
I've now got at least 20 from the original 6, and I know that two of the originals have passed, so that's quite a replacement scheme! Wink Big Grin
