Just checking in, hope all ok with you, terrible storms, three tornados and sadly three deaths. Alicante airport flooded , flights cancelled, also Corvera airport closed, runway flooded.
Stay safe and dry.

All OK here. We've been very lucky. Strong winds and torrencial rain the night before last but since then gentle rain and breezes. The wind has come from the East so we get some protection. There are so many micro-climates here that in the next valley there could be rain and brilliant sunshine here. I was watching the news here tonight, almost all the news was devoted to the gota fria. 5 people have now lost their lives.

Another night of a crazy storm, I’ve never seen anything like it, it thundered constantly, thought it was wind rushing through an open window and then I saw the flashes of lightening. That was the same, flash after flash, at one point it was like daylight ! Blooming jiggered !

We had an unexpected storm this morning. It stated about 6 and went on for a couple of hours. I videoed it from the front door before the hail stones started. Up to 6 deaths now. South of Alicante is a disaster area. The military is there now helping. Something like 1,500 rescues in the area, many by helicopter. Orihuela was still cut off this afternoon.
