Took the dog for a walk....
#1
So i decided as we were taking the dog for a walk that we would head towards one of the LFS and around 2 hours 30 minutes later we get back.

I now have no idea what to stock or if I'm building my stand or anything. The one fish I said I wouldn't stock because I've owned before I just couldn't stop watching which was a big group of Guppies with flashing orange fins, I dont know where these were when i first had an aquarium but they looked nothing like these. I also seen some lovely Metallic Gold Barbs.

They also had some full set ups that works out a fair bit cheaper than me building the stand and buying separate. So now I've got to research the stands and set ups to see which direction im going.

Now lets get that kettle on...

It's always nice to find deals and then plan for moving forwards. Smile

Or completely start over because you’ve seen something cool in a LFS Smile

There was a lovely Aqua One Oak set up with sump which didn't help as I've been going back and forth between canister and sump.

So far the only thing I'm set on is it's going to be a planted tank, I go to the LFS for some guidance and end lost with no direction by the time I leave lol.

The Missis has her eye on a Betta and my boy loves Oscar's and Flowerhorns.

Best that you dither and change your mind lots at this stage though rather than after you’ve bought something and then think “oh hang on.....”

The missus can have her own small tank with just the betta, and son a 6' with the big cichlids. Then another for you with a community....sorted! Big Grin

Perfect. Seeing as that’s probably what will happen anyway might as well start planning for it now.

You could always put a blind up on the window where the big tank would go Wink

I'm going to get the small 3ft one set up in the living room and once that is stocked up make a plan for the 5ft maybe 6ft one in the dining room and the 2ft for in the bedroom.

I had a Betta many years ago and it did great in a community tank until and only realised now I've got back into it is that I over stocked the tank. After that it terrorised everything and it ended up going in my mates 6ft tank.

Its worrying to think the places I bought my fish from had pretty much no knowledge, the internet wasnt a big resource like now and other than my mate I didn't know anyone who kept aquariums. Even then he was the same. Buy a tank l, fill it up and add fish.

I dont think I ever had any Molly's or Guppies die though so they must be bomb proof.
