I tried Water Lettuce which I got from Ebay. Unfortunately my 3 "boy Guppies" chewed the hanging roots off the plants and plants just disintegrated. Sheer vandalism!!!. After the tank transfer due to that leak, (see other thread) I intend to get some girl guppies which might calm the vandals down as well as giving me some fishy babies. But regarding floating plants, I have tried several mosses and all seem to just break up and float around, looking lost.
Hi Ruth, nice looking tank.
I'm thinking of getting some floating plants for my tank and wondered is that Salvinia you have?

These floating plants look brilliant. Are there any that could go in my temperate tank?

You do know Guppies and Endlers for that matter can suffer from Vitamin C deficiency. Water Lettuce has a reasonable amount of Vitamin C within the roots and even more is found in the leaves.
