What type of slate is best for making aquarium hides? I do roofing so basically have an unlimited supply of slate lol.

I’ve got a lot of Spanish slate at the moment but it has a sharp edge when cut and I’m worried about it hurting the fish??

Any info would be great thanks

any works as long as you sand down the edges.

PVC pipe works well, easy to cover with sand/plants :)

I've just got some plum slate (rocks) which look nice.

I wouldn't bother with sandpaper, it just tears and splits. Get a hammer and tap the sharp edges very lightly to blunt them 👍

Scrape the rough edges of the slate against the patio, kerb, driveway or whatever.
