Removed the sand and tanks left in a jumble. I dont mind it like this but maintaining it would be a pain.

Picked up 40kg(2 bags) of pool filter sand this morning got a 20kilo of silver sand getting delivered Friday, drained tank down half way, removed the last bit of old sand and washed and rinsed new sand, added to tank and refilled, slight different scaping.

Be very careful with silver sand - it's often very sharp. ;)

That should be ok - it's when you get it from DIY shops, it's often the stuff for mixing with cement...... ;)

Managed to get out today upto Aqualife Leyland, had a good list on the fish I wanted, Corydoras Ornatus---Out of stock, L264 Sultan Plec----Out of stock, Lemon Tetras-----Out of stock, did manage to pick up 7 Hockeystick Pencilfish(Nannostomus eques) that was the last of there stock, disappointing a bit but no real rush this is a long term project(if you can believe that :D ).

I was tempted by some really nice Apisto's but 2 pairs of breeding cichlids is enough :D

There is a lack of stock nationally due to the current pandemic & lack of flights out of south America.
I was lucky obtaining my stock but I did phone several LFS, most had very little stock or any fish on my list.
It's always worth phoning first to save disappointment.

What fish are are your list?

Have you tried (phone them first):-

Bold Heath is my usual MH lfs but got into a disagreement with the manager over Seachem Prime being used to dose the tank on water changes, he recommended MH own brand explained I use 30ml per week for WC(x2) when there junk would take 100ml per week and a much higher cost too.

Speke one is garbage, not tried Knutsford, I know I should phone and sometimes do lol, I have a localer shop Merseyside Aquatic Warehouse 2 miles from me but he is struggling with supply and yeah I fully understand no flights from the Americas at the moment, I have been looking at Tropco for the plecs, not a bad choice there, as I say no rush, I enjoy travelling around as driving is my 2nd hobby(dads cab) it would seem :P .

Cheers for them other links Stephen didn't know about them.
