Well done getting the angel eggs Ruth. How hard are they defending them?
And is hugo ok with the other fish since he built the nest? Stan has never made one.

Well they don’t seem to be too angry, but they are keeping everything away from the eggs. No contact - just “clear off!” type movements. At the min the lights are out. He has taken himself off to sleep at the other end and he’s oblivious to anything around him and she is tending to her eggs.Andys temperate tank wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2020 23:07 pm Well done getting the angel eggs Ruth. Hugo is just being his mild mannered self.

They have eaten most of the eggs. I’m glad because I’d feel so sorry for the wee babies if they had hatched and been eaten!!

Ah never mind. Practice for next time!
Though my rams have laid eggs every month for the last 18 months or so, and eaten them up every single time... (after guarding them for a couple of days and then getting fed up)
Would you want to raise them?
