Hi all
Just added some shrimps (I think they are called "Crystal Red"?) to my wife's 30l Nano aquarium:
Question: the guy in the LFF said that they would be fine in our set-up and that they are ok with the liquid fertiliser that we use.
Having done some more research (and yes, I know that I should have done this beforehand - mea culpa ) it looks like they might not be happy with copper and zinc?
We use MasterLine I and II (1ml of each per day), whereby number one contains Fe, Mn, Zn, B, Mo and Cu. So now I am worried if the little guys will be ok or not?
Should I do a water change and stop using it?
30l Nano...

copper in ferts is usually ok with shrimp, but you can half dose if you are concerned. Its copper and zinc medications as these contain a higher level that is harmful to shrimp.
Crystals need softer water and are a lot harder to keep than cherry (neocaridina) shrimp.

I tried to measure the water values, but my GH value was weird.
Anyway, I got:
I am using "demineralised water" at the moment and will be switching to "osmosis-water" from the LFF soon, so I can't imagine that the water is very hard at all?
Any suggestions on a better test set, and which values I will need for the shrimp/fish?
Anyway, I 'll do a water change and see how it goes.
Anyway, I got:
- pH 6.5
- kH 3
- NO2 0.5
- GH - instructions say to add drops until the colour goes from red, through brown, to green, but it just went yellow and stayed that way, regardless of how many drops I put in.

API test kits are ok, NT Labs are another good choice.

Hi all!
Can anybody tell me what these are? They look like eggs, but I understood that shrimp carry their eggs around with them, so snail eggs?
Hope the photo is not too blurry, I had to max the zoom...

depends. It can be a sign of over feeding if the population gets out of hand. I used to leave them to it but now I pull the adults out when I see them.
