So yesterday evening found a load of eggs stuck to the glass, assumed they were cory eggs although most had already been eaten transferred the few remaining into a breeder box, perhaps someone with experience could help

- firstly are they cory eggs? I know snails lay eggs though I only see tiny snails in there
- will they be ok in the breeder box?
- would females have laid without a male, how would I know if they are fertilised?
here are the best pics I could get of them

Congratulations new fish parent! They look like cory eggs :-)
I’m not an expert at raising them, I’ve had some success but generally get a very low hatch rate. Others may be able to advise better.
Once they hatch (approx 4 days after laying), then within 3 days you need to start feeding with small live foods like microworms or newly-hatched brine shrimp (artemia). Now is the time to equip yourself with live food cultures!

My Corys seem intent on supplying the other fish with daily doses of omelettes. I can see the wretched eggs on the back wall of the tank, but they are just out of reach. Mrs. Cory knows that! I think the other fish encourage her.

Thanks @Mol_PMB great to know they are from the corys, to be honest not convinced they are fertile can't see anything inside but perhaps they are supposed to look like that? Sounds like I will know after a week, hope my breeder box is suitable it does have holes to let the water through and the eggs are very small, will have to watch them more carefully not sure which group it is from, doesn't really matter though if any hatch I will be thrilled :D

If they’re not fertile they will probably go hairy with fungus.
If they are, they may darken in colour a little. Different species of Cory lay eggs of different sizes and colours.
I use an external 2L nursery with an airlift to circulate water from the main tank. Some fine sand on the bottom, and some moss and stones for cover.
That allows me to target-feed the fry more easily and keeps them away from other hungry mouths.

Thanks @Mol_PMB I am guessing this is totally separate then not hung onto the outside of main tank, would you have a picture of the whole set up at all? Not sure I have anywhere to put a separate tank as my 180 is in an alcove but will have a think if that is a better way of doing things...

Yes @Jon_D the other fish had eaten most of them, and those left were in an awkward place behind the filter outlet they took some wheedling out! could have only been there a few hours lucky it was my day off or the other fish would of had the lot, they had a good go while I was trying to remove them, not at all put off by my fingers so I had to try and watch the other fishies as well as the eggs - it was a bit of a more tricky operation than I was expecting :swim:

In mine and a few peoples experience the breeder box isnt a great option. The eggs need water flow which they won’t get in there and will go moulds without it. If you put an air stone in, that my help. My friend just had some hatch in one of those, but the holes are too big for the fry and the other fish just sucked them out and ate them. Ideal would be a separate tank or a mesh/ net cube or rectangle near the filter output had worked for me in the past. Hope that helps.

Thanks @Si4geckos a mesh one might work then? would you have a link to one as I might not be able to do the separate tank and don't want to get the wrong thing (again) - I directed the filter outlet away didn't want it to damage the eggs there should still be water flow in there, but yes I was worried about the holes being too big, eggs are still there, not convinced they are going to hatch, if I have a group of all females would they still lay?
