It’s no surprise that that site has got it wrong. Not the most reliable source...Ric wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 19:27 pm Here you go:

There’s a very large American forum that’s just like that. I’ve been banned twice for correcting incorrect info given by a mod.VikingMummy2015 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 21:16 pm I’ll not mention on the Betta group....i’ll Get yelled at for being right yet again about something when i’m not even an admin (aka they who must not be corrected).

Er, excuse me people, I must point out we are not allowed to say male or female anymore.
This fish as with all living creatures have rights and are now to be class as gender neutral, you could quite possibly upset it's feelings.

Remember that wild bettas don't have the fancy finnage, or colouration, so it can be hard to tell with young bettas which gender they are.
It isn't unusual to find a male in a group of females, but it can be cause for concern.
I'd err on the side of saying it's a male just from the body shape. Females tend to have a bulgier chest, whereas males are more streamlined, although there may not be much difference.

I checked with them and they're okay with 'male' and 'female'Martinspuddle wrote: ↑Mon Aug 24, 2020 8:44 am Er, excuse me people, I must point out we are not allowed to say male or female anymore.
