Er, excuse me people, I must point out we are not allowed to say male or female anymore.
This fish as with all living creatures have rights and are now to be class as gender neutral, you could quite possibly upset it's feelings.

Remember that wild bettas don't have the fancy finnage, or colouration, so it can be hard to tell with young bettas which gender they are.
It isn't unusual to find a male in a group of females, but it can be cause for concern.
I'd err on the side of saying it's a male just from the body shape. Females tend to have a bulgier chest, whereas males are more streamlined, although there may not be much difference.
