Pearl or Thick-Lipped Gourami?

Pearls you want to look at the dorsal fin shape. I found it quite easy to pick out a male and 2 females (female dorsal is smaller and more rounded, males is longer and has the extended rays).

Kept pair Pearls more then once and they always were docile gracious fish ib a well.planted tank. I'd go for Pearls.

Got a couple of young pearls, suspect one may be male unfortunately, will keep a close eye on behaviour see how they get on.

I wouldn’t worry overly much; out of my trio it was the dominant female who was the only one I ever saw chasing anything! They generally are very peaceful and the males are amazing when they colour up!

Agree with Vikingmummy - Initially I had a pair which turned out to be male and female, never had any problems just added the others to be sure and asked the girl in my LFS to do her best to get me 2 females (they were still young) and she said she was as confident as she could be at that size but as they grew it became clear she was spot on!

Fingers crossed they work out, I've just left the light off for the rest of the day to let them settle in, will get a better look at them tomorrow.

I've always fancied keeping pearls, loved my wee honeys when I had them. Dwarves...never again.

Seem to be settling in OK, although my Keyhole seems to be awfully interested in them, and the pearls are bricking it.

I think that's probably a pair, always lucky when they're not adult.

I think you're right, they're pretty inseparable.
